Christopher R. Baker, CFP®
After receiving a degree in Finance from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business, Chris began his financial services career in 1990 with a large national firm. He found that the typical approach in the industry was product-focused instead of client-focused. Based on this experience and a vision of what a premier financial advisory firm should be, he co-founded Oaktree Financial Advisors. Oaktree would be an independent firm where clients would receive real financial expertise and personalized advice based on what is best for their situation, provided by experienced financial professionals, not salespeople.
Chris is a member of the Financial Planning Association and a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM professional, which requires postgraduate study in the fields of retirement, investment, insurance, employee benefits, taxes and estate planning.
He has three children and lives in Noblesville, Indiana.
"Trust is at the heart of what we do. By providing each client with individualized, objective advice and detailed follow through and client service, we work very hard to earn and continue earning our clients' trust."
Edward J. Snyder, CFP®, ChFC
Ed began his career in financial services in 1994 with a large national firm before moving to a smaller local firm in 1995. He soon realized that most of the people in the financial services business were salespeople and most of the time they worked for companies who manufactured financial products that they wanted to sell to consumers - whether it was right for the client or not. These were not financial planners or advisors working for their clients. These were salespeople working for institutions.
In 2000, he co-founded Oaktree Financial Advisors with a vision to provide professional financial advice and investment management from a truly independent perspective. Oaktree would be free from sales pitches and instead work for and with clients in helping them achieve their goals and develop long-term relationships with the highest level of service.
Ed holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Ball State University. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM professional and has obtained the Chartered Financial Consultant designation. Both consist of postgraduate study in the fields of retirement, investment, insurance, employee benefits, taxes and estate planning.
He is a member of the Financial Planning Association, serves on the Board of Directors of Little Red Door Cancer Agency and is a member of the Investment Committee at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church.
Ed lives in Carmel, Indiana with his wife and five children.
"Our business is about relationships with people, not just their money. I'm proud to have co-founded a firm where people can discuss their concerns and receive independent, objective advice; an atmosphere where people are comfortable."
